On A Journey to Recovery with the Dupuytren’s Contracture Disease

Tom Wilson arrived from Canada as a guest who was diagnosed with Dupuytren’s Contracture, a disorder which he has been dealing with for over 30 years. On asking about his opinion after his visit, he says that it was indeed worthwhile. “I got my wish in every respect, from the paradisiacal, lush setting just outside Kottayam, Kerala, India, the comfortable cottages where we resided for the next 2 weeks”. Apart from the regular consultation with his doctors, Tom goes on to give a detailed account on the massages which he received by the staff as a part of his treatment. He says that his treatment was followed by procedures that were assisted and observed by his doctors and the procedures included working on with oil massages every day, that helped him on a great level.

He talks about the stomach and leg massages given to him, saying “The leg massages were intended to make me better able to carry my weight and also succeeded admirably. They carried out a regimen of warm oil and massage treatments to every part of the body requiring it, especially the stomach (Senyub), the hands (Ajash) and the legs (both Senyub and Ajash)”.
He also talks about the regular consultations with his doctors – Dr. Sreejit and Dr. Jaya Lakshmi. He claims that their careful scrutiny of his health condition and follow ups on a daily basis by played a vital role in his improvement.

Tom affirms that the treatment allowed him to see a difference in the movement of his fingers. With the doctors’ efforts, the treatment not only helped in bringing life to his hand but also successfully achieved to maintain its effect even after a month.

He is also quite satisfied that he and his wife made the right decision when it came to the choice of medicine that Athreya’s doctors prescribed him, that set him on his road to recovery. “We made sure we purchased at a most reasonable price the required medication for the next stages and are extremely happy we did so”.
